Watercolour
Janet was able to explore her creativity when she worked: making displays for the wool department at Simpsons and creating advertising layouts for a weekly newspaper. She moved to England where she was invited to be a Carnegie Greenaway children's book judge which reignited her interest in art. She then earned an MA degree in Children's Literature and an essay on Children's book illustration that was used by the National Library of Canada for the promotion of Canadian children's picture books. Back in Canada to she joined a folk art painting group in Merrickville ON and learned to draw and took art classes at every opportunity. She now continues to pursue an expertise in Botanical illustration with it's emphasis on watercolour.
